I am Dr. Victor J. Coleman Jr., affectionately known as Dr. V The Speaker, a proud father of three, corporate leader, and entrepreneur hailing from Toledo, Ohio. My life's narrative, characterized by adversity, resilience, and transformation, has become a source of inspiration for many.

Growing up in a challenging environment rife with poverty and familial discord, my early years were marked by academic struggles, arrests, and personal trauma. Despite repeating second grade due to reading difficulties and facing suspensions and arrests, I refused to let these hardships define me. Instead, I viewed them as stepping stones toward a better life.

A little more about me
In 2008, I embarked on a transformative academic journey, enrolling in college and ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Entertainment Business in 2010. The pursuit of knowledge continued with a Master's Degree in Entertainment Business in 2013, and a crowning achievement in 2019 with a Ph.D. in Business Management, specializing in leadership. My dissertation explored the impact of cross-ethnic mentoring, a subject rooted in my personal experiences.

Throughout my life, I've grappled with depression, low self-esteem, and other obstacles, shaping my mission to inspire others to overcome their circumstances. The V.J. Coleman Jr. Flight School, founded in 2010, reflects my commitment to helping individuals reach their potential, irrespective of their starting point. I share my life openly, hoping that others find courage to transcend their circumstances, believing, as I do, that it's not how you start, but how you finish that truly matters.
The overall impact that I got from the speech today from Dr. V was to believe in yourself and that it's okay to make mistakes. It's about what you do after those mistakes. It's about overcoming those and being a lifelong learner so you can continuously grow.
