BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT

BEHAVIORAL UNDERSTANDING

Professional development for the adults who work with young people built to move your staff from compliance to genuine connection.

ABOUT THE TRAINING

"When the adults understand why students behave the way they do everything changes."

Beyond Behaviors is Dr. V's flagship professional development suite for the adults who work with young people. It was born from a simple truth: the behavior you see is rarely the whole story. Behind the outburst, the shutdown, and the defiance is a young person communicating the only way they know how.

Designed by Dr. Victor J. Coleman Jr., a doctoral—level program architect, this training equips your team to read what behavior is really saying, respond with strategy instead of reaction, and build the kind of trust that transforms a building's culture.

THE FRAMEWORK

FOUR PILLARS. ONE SHIFT.

Pillar One

TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE

Your team learns what stress and adversity actually do to a young person's brain and capacity so adults respond with strategy, not reaction. Staff leave seeing the same behaviors through an entirely different lens.

Pillar Two

THE MENTOR MINSET

Every adult in the building is a mentor whether they signed up for it or not. This pillar builds intentional mentorship identity: presence, curiosity, belief, and accountability in every student interaction.

Pillar Three

CULTURE THAT LASTS

Staff reconnects to who they are professionally in the building, in the community, and online and recognize that their presence is part of the message students and families receive every day.

Pillar Four

LEADERSHIP

Culture isn't something staff inherit it's something they build. This pillar moves your team from passive recipients of workplace culture to active contributors who model it, protect it, and pass it on.

THE RESULTS

WHAT YOUR TEAM WALKS AWAY WITH

This is not sit-and-get PD. Every session is experiential, and every outcome is observable back in the building.

FEWER ESCALATIONS

Staff replace reactive language with regulated, trauma-aware communication and escalation incidents go down because adults stop pouring fuel on the fire.

A SHARED LANGUAGE

Your whole team leaves with one common framework for understanding behavior so responses become consistent from the front office to the classroom.

RENEWED STAFF

Educators and youth workers reconnect to their purpose. Teams report increased patience, follow-through, and peer accountability long after the training ends.

Dr. V The Speaker

MEET DR. V

THE ARCHITECT

Dr. Victor J. Coleman Jr. didn't come from the classroom and that's exactly the point. He spent more than 21 years in the corporate world, nearly 15 of them in leadership, before earning his PhD in business management with a concentration in leadership development.

As a Doctoral-Level Program Architect, he builds behavioral environments, not lesson plans. Where traditional education consultants recycle what schools have already tried, Dr. V brings the leadership science, organizational strategy, and human insight that transform how adults show up for young people.

Alongside program developer and facilitator Jasmine, Dr. V delivers Beyond Behaviors to schools, districts, and youth-serving organizations across the Midwest and beyond.
